At the beginning of September, in Albefeuille Lagarde (close to Montauban, France) the first edition of the Parabatix race was held. The club ULM 82 welcomed 14 pilots, within the best “dynamic flight” in the world. This kind of competition signs a new style, which allows to a no pilot public to understand easily the rules: speed and precision.
2 Training days were necessary for the organisation, and the pilots to “run in” for the star day: Saturday. That day was the day of the real competition, with a huge public, a super show, followed by a big fiesta.
Mathieu Rouanet won this first edition of a spectacular and fun race which delighted the public and pilots and after the great success of this inauguration this will probably be an alternative in the world of paraengine and its competitions. Here Mathieu Rouanet gives us his impressions of the completion: – the 5 official tasks were short (1 minute average) and there was almost no dead time for the public. We had to turnaround the big pylons, and eventually pick up some toys on the ground (like foam rings, or gymnastic balloons. The pilots present were all of a very high level, and it was hard for me to catch a few seconds from them.
My first opponent (and also good friend) was Alex Matéos (French 2010 champion) and he did 2 small mistakes, which costs him 4 seconds more than me… it was very close …
Thanks to PAP to be part of the competition, I am convinced that Parabatix will soon be a model for the paraengine competition for a large public.
Thanks to Pierre to build frames and engines with which we can travel, compete, fly dynamical, POLYVALENCE!!!!
