Mission accomplished!, 18 days of expedition flying over the most spectacular landscapes of Mexico that, as well as having enjoyed, and accomplished with the expectations with which we undertook this official expedition called – tracking Mexico.
We have flown in paraengine over the volcanoes of Popocatepetl, volcano of fire in Colima and Paricutin. The first, Popo (Cholula), over which the pilot Lu Marini attempted and successfully did the continental height record, establishing it in 5012 meters.
We leave here a sample of the best images of these places, and took the opportunity to give thanks to the Aztec gods by tolerating our interference in their domains. Especially in the Orizaba peak of 5747 meters of altitude, that despite the harsh conditions, finally we were able to fly (these flights remind me to the area of the Kilimanjaro.)At the top everything is relatively stable but at the take off, there were strong winds, also thermals that are formed on the Plains that surround the volcano. At the same time and almost always around the volcano, storms are formed with rain or snow. (Is like a giant inverted tunnel that channels the river water.)
Finally, the 18-day expedition we flew 12 days with favorable weather that allowed us to travell 1000 km in a straight line from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean, crossing the country by neo volcanic axis.
On this occasion the material i used was a PA125, Sigma 8, 23 m. of Advance. With a superb result, I flew without problems to almost 6000 meters of altitude in Orizaba and on several occasions about 5000 meters. My personal conclusion, and shared by many colleagues, is that now everything seems easier than 10 years ago. These are already many years of experience chasing records and carried out expeditions and it is very gratifying to see, and feel that technically the flight in paraengine has evolutioned.
Without more, show my thanks to all the people who made it possible this new and unforgettable adventure. My sincere thanks to Lu Marini, doubt Marini, Juares Tabares, Salvador Lara, Enrique Gonzales, Rafael Sutti, Paco Sosa, Momo, Luis Vilches, Fernando Zapata and Emerald and all persons who met, “VIVA Mexico” on the road.
And as always to PAP, DRACO, ADVANCE, Spot and Helix. Thank you all!
