We travelled from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, stopping on the way to fly in Ayutthaya and the River Kwai bridge. The flights in Chiang Mai were organised by John and Tee, who did everything possible for us to enjoy Thailand. Flying over the rice fields, hot springs, elephants, the Tibet tribes, (that now live there) sharing their beautiful tropical valleys was a true pleasure.http://www.chiangmaichimes.com/hilltribe.html On our first flight we were greeted by the local pilots, who turned up after work to fly, and share their country with us.
From the North we headed to the Balloon festival of Nakhon Nayok, where we flew with 21 air balloons. We took off with 5 local pilots from a football field, just after the balloons, a spectacular flight. We flew again in the afternoon, from a field near the dam, very calm conditions, and a very helpful organiser.
We then headed for Ko pha-ngan, and Ko Samui, beautiful Islands off the East coast. Taking off from the beaches early morning in just shorts and a T-shirt in December, just amazing!!!
Our next stop, Ko Lanta, then the Island of Ko Phi phi. No cars, or motorbikes are allowed on the Island. We travelled by ferry with the paramotores, then once on the Island they had a type of small trolley, big enough for two PPG´s. This is normally free, with the hotel. We were again very lucky with the weather, we spent 3 days on the Island, and flew every day. We hired a small boat for half a day, which cost 25 euros, and with Anna aboard, we headed off on another adventure. Taking off at 8am, we headed to the nearby Island of Ko Phi Phi Lee, the Island of the Movie “The Beach” which was filmed in the year 2000. The feeling of flying over the sea, with our boat following below was spectacular.
We then headed along the West coast, which was much quieter then the east coast. The beautiful towns Khoa Lak, and Khura Buri, lots of water everywhere, which left beautiful formations in the sand, as the tide went back out to sea.
Our 6 week stay just flew by, and before we knew it we were back at Bangkok. A truly great adventure, that I´d recommend to anyone.
Thanks for help and information, PAP, Mathieu, Mark, Paul, John, Tee, and to Pop & To.
See you all soon.

Karen, Jason, Toni, Sebas y Anna.
